Original found at I am Baker. Pairs well with a chocolate cake.
Ingredients
- 2 c (4 sticks) room temperature unsalted butter.
- 7 1/2 c powdered sugar
- 1 c cocoa powder
- 1 tsp table salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 c whole milk cream

Instructions
- Place butter and vanilla into a stand mixer and beat at medium-high for about three minutes. It will lighten and fluff by taking on a little air.
- In a separate bowl, sift together powdered sugar and cocoa.
- Mix salt to the brown with sugar and cocoa.
- With mixer off, add in one cup of the powdered sugar and cocoa mixture.
- Turn mixer on to low and then slowly add in remaining powdered sugar mixture.
- While mixer is still on, add in milk.
- Once milk is incorporated, turn mixer to medium high and blend for at least two minutes.
